Father's Day Weekend at Rio Vista

We took Sugar and Sparky for some Pony Finals warm-up work and both were great again! Both ponies have been lounging in the Pasture since Las Colinas 3 weeks ago,,,,,,but true to form, they came out and were perfect for Whitney.

Sugar laid down perfect rounds with perfect flying lead changes and took a first and second in the Pony Hunters Over Fences. She was 3rd in the under saddle with Avery doing the riding for us. Thank you Avery you were AWESOME!

Thanks to Avery hacking for us, Sugar gathered enough points to be RESERVE SHOW CHAMPION PONY HUNTER. Extending her streak to

3 years of horse shows with a show championship or reserve every time out.

After her work, she shared some watermelon with me!

Sparky was also perfect, but didn't pick his knees up quite like he usually does. He had good rounds however and it was a good warm-up for Kentucky. He took a 3rd and a 4th in the Hunters O/F but as usual,,,,,,,,,,,,he won the hack! After a very inventive round of Eq. Over, Whitney took a 5th in that and a 4th in the Eq. Flat. No championships today for Sparky, but he was very good. Whitney did a fabulous job of showing both ponies! I think Sparky wants to jump 3'6" again!
